Social Media Coordinator

Pay: $25/hr, 5 hours per week

The Opportunity
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for cultivating The Chapter House’s online social media presence by creating regular social media posts, tracking online engagement with The Chapter House’s platforms, and increasing visibility of the organization online. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Social Media Coordinator will also be responsible for answering messages from audience members online, representing and maintaining The Chapter House’s brand online, and providing periodic updates to The Chapter House team on key metrics.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee social media content.
Create and edit written, video, and photo content.
Assist in developing and curating engaging content for social media platforms.
Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Operations to create a social media calendar.
Assist team in rollout and execution of the organization’s social media and fundraising campaigns.
Attend and document events, as well as produce live social media content.
Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels.
Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy.
Assist the organization in growing our online presence and impact.
Monitor social media channels for industry trends to grow The Chapter House’s audience.
Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments; develop templatized answers to frequently asked questions.
Review analytics and create reports on key metrics periodically for staff and the board.
Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of social media, global and domestic Indigenous issues and movements
Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Strong copywriting and copyediting skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
Is enthusiastic, flexible, and willing to learn
Requirements
1-3 years experience with social media marketing or content development
Direct experience using social media management tools (Later)
Experience with Google Suite (Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets)
Experience creating social media content in Canva, Figma, or other design software
Must have reliable internet access
Able to work 5 hours per week
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
L.A. area required; reliable transportation required
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field appreciated
Experience with Microsoft Office, GoogleSuite, Asana, and Slack preferred
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools preferred
