Diné Bikéyah (Navajo Nation) born and raised Sash Belt Weaver, Jonessa Reid, has been weaving since 2017. Although, she comes from a lineage of weavers, she felt the urge to start her journey in revitalizing this particular Navajo art form. Her style of weaving merges the traditional and contemporary worlds of wearable art, allowing her to create versatile and unique designs. Each item woven brings meaning and stories for the weaver and wearer. As an emerging Indigenous artist in the Native Art world, she has been juried into her first art show in the 2021 Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market.

You can follow Jonessa on her social media as she is exploring other forms of Navajo cultural arts.
